Lukang Ai Gate

The Lukang Ai Gate is a historic gate located in Lukang Township, Changhua County, Taiwan. Built in 1839 during the Qing Dynasty, it served as a fortification to protect the area from invasions amidst territorial disputes. Standing at 3.3 meters tall and 2.7 meters wide, the gate features traditional Chinese architecture and inscriptions. It is divided into three types, including boundary and roadway Ai Gates, making it a significant landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in Taiwan's cultural heritage.
