Anchor Brewing Company revival and Anchor Steam

Fritz Maytag purchased Anchor Brewing in 1965 and rebuilt production of Anchor Steam beer at the Potrero Hill brewery, helping spark the modern American craft beer movement. The brewery operated for decades at this site where the historic Anchor Steam brand was revived and bottled for national distribution. Anchor's long-running Potrero Hill facility became a landmark in San Francisco brewing history.
