United States Mint, Denver (early 20th-century minting facility)

The Denver Mint building on West Colfax began operations in 1906 as a branch of the United States Mint and was constructed to expand federal coin production in the western United States. The facility has produced circulating coinage, commemorative coins, and stored gold bullion over its history and continues to operate today as one of the U.S. Mint's active coin-producing facilities. The site is a piece of federal industrial infrastructure dating to the early 20th century in Denver.
