Bank of Hominy

The Bank of Hominy, located in Hominy, Oklahoma, is a historic building constructed in 1906, notable for its Richardsonian Romanesque architectural style. It was the only bank in town until its closure in 1938 during the Great Depression and is recognized as the oldest bank building in Hominy. The structure features native sandstone and minimal architectural changes since its construction, making it a significant example of its style in Osage County. After its banking days, it was repurposed into an auto parts store and has retained office space on the second floor. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and is currently undergoing renovations, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
