Mdina Gate

Mdina Gate, also known as the Main Gate or Vilhena Gate, is the primary entrance to the historic fortified city of Mdina in Malta. Constructed in 1724 in Baroque style by architect Charles François de Mondion, it stands as a testament to the city's rich history, which dates back to its founding by the Phoenicians around 700 BC. The gate features intricate decorations, including the coats of arms of Grand Master António Manoel de Vilhena and the city itself, along with reliefs of Malta's patron saints. A notable tourist attraction, it has been restored and is recognized as a Grade 1 national monument. The gate also gained fame as a filming location for the popular series Game of Thrones, representing one of the gates of King's Landing.
