Ford Piquette Avenue Plant-hidden early assembly floors

The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is the factory where the Model T was first developed and assembled; much of the second-floor machine shop and early assembly areas are preserved behind museum exhibits. The building houses original engine rooms and prototype workspaces from the 1900s that are not obvious from the street and are accessible on guided tours. The site is operated as a museum documenting early automotive manufacturing and design.
