Union Oyster House (early 18th-century building)

The building housing the Union Oyster House dates to 1717 and the restaurant has occupied the site since 1826, making it one of the oldest continuously operating eateries in the United States. The structure retains early masonry and timber-frame elements and a layered historic fabric from the 18th and 19th centuries. It contributes to the Blackstone Block and the surrounding historic district documented for its colonial and early national period architecture.
