Soldiers and Sailors Monument (Monument Circle)

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is a 284-foot neoclassical monument at Monument Circle that honors Indiana veterans of the American Civil War. Designed by Bruno Schmitz and completed in 1902, the monument incorporates sculptural reliefs and allegorical figures as part of its stone-and-bronze installation. It is the focal point of downtown Indianapolis and hosts civic commemorations and public displays.
