Bellows School

The Bellows School, located in the historic Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio, is a notable Renaissance Revival style building constructed in 1905. Designed by architect David Riebel, it served as a public elementary school until its closure in 1977. The building features intricate architectural details, including a rusticated limestone foundation and elaborate cornices. Despite being mostly vacant for decades, it was deemed eligible for the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. Plans for renovation emerged in 2014, aiming to transform the structure into office space and apartments, while preserving its historical significance amidst potential demolition threats from nearby highway expansions.
