Shetland Gas Plant

The Shetland Gas Plant, located in the Shetland Islands of Scotland, serves as a vital natural gas processing facility for the offshore Laggan-Tormore project, which includes significant gas and gas condensate fields. Opened in May 2016, the plant is a modern engineering feat, costing around £800 million, and is connected to a 230 km pipeline that exports gas to Aberdeenshire. With production starting in February 2016, it is expected to yield approximately 93,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, making it an important contributor to the region's energy sector.
