White Chimneys

White Chimneys is a historic mansion located in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, originally built as the Francis Jones Tavern between 1710 and 1720. This impressive 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay structure features stuccoed limestone and a gable roof with dormers, having undergone several expansions over the centuries. It served as a residence for the Slaymaker family for over two centuries and was a notable landmark along the Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike. The property has a rich history, including connections to the Marquis de Lafayette's visit in 1825 and a reputation for ghost stories. Today, while still a private residence, its grounds and gardens are open to the public by appointment, and it has become a popular venue for weddings.
