George Bush Intercontinental Airport (named for George H. W. Bush)

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is named for George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States and a longtime Houston resident and public official. The airport opened in 1969 (originally as Intercontinental Airport Houston) and was renamed in 1997 to recognize Bush's national service and Houston ties. IAH is Houston's primary international air gateway and a major hub for passenger traffic in the region.
