Richland is a historic house located in Harwood, Maryland, notable for its unique architectural significance as the only known late-19th-century rural dwelling in Anne Arundel County associated with a specific architectural firm. Built in 1893 for gentleman farmer Robert Murray Cheston and his wife Mary, the home showcases Colonial Revival and Queen Anne styles. Spanning approximately 3,000 square feet, it sits on a 332-acre farm that has undergone various ownership changes, including the establishment of Thanksgiving Farm by the Talliaferro family. The property has been revitalized by the Heimbuch family, who restored the house and opened a winery in 2006. Richland was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers alike.
