Greenwold (Dover, Delaware)

Greenwold, also known as the Manlove Hayes House, is a historic home in Dover, Delaware, built in 1863. This 2+1⁄2-story structure features a five bay wide stucco facade, a cross-gable roof, and a full-width verandah, retaining much of its original landscaping. Originally constructed by civil engineer Manlove Hayes, the house remained in his family until 1946. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 by Sarah Scull, who lived there until selling it to Bayhealth in 1982. The property has been used for office space until recent proposals for demolition in 2020 for a parking lot, making it a point of interest for those exploring Delaware's architectural history and preservation efforts.
