Old Mission Dam in Mission Trails Regional Park

The Old Mission Dam was constructed in the early 19th century to impound water for Mission San Diego de Alcalá and support mission agriculture. The stone and mortar remains of the dam are preserved within Mission Trails Regional Park and are interpreted by park signage. The dam can be reached via park trails near the Mission Trails Visitor Center and is a documented example of mission-era waterworks in San Diego.
