San Fernando Cathedral (historic masonry cathedral)

San Fernando Cathedral was founded by settlers, including Canary Islanders, in 1731 and is one of the oldest continuously operating cathedrals in the United States. The present building incorporates 18th- and 19th-century masonry and has served as a religious and civic landmark in downtown San Antonio for centuries. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and contains structural fabric tied to the city's Spanish colonial era infrastructure.
