Lincoln Memorial and MLK 'I Have a Dream' site

The Lincoln Memorial, dedicated in 1922, honors President Abraham Lincoln and features a 19-foot seated marble statue carved by Daniel Chester French. The interior walls are engraved with Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and his Second Inaugural Address. The steps and reflecting pool in front of the memorial were the site of Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'I Have a Dream' speech during the March on Washington on August 28, 1963.
