San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden - converted limestone quarry

The San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden occupies a former limestone rock quarry in Brackenridge Park and was developed into a formal garden beginning in 1917. The site features extensive stonework, arched bridges, winding walkways, and a large spring-fed pond, with masonry improvements completed by the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s. The garden remains a distinctive public landscape and popular visitor destination in San Antonio.
