Ford Hotel

The Ford Hotel was a notable historic hotel located in central Toronto, Ontario, built in 1928. As part of the R.T. Ford & Company chain, it featured 750 rooms across three 12-story wings and was known for its proximity to the Toronto Bus Terminal, offering affordable accommodations for travelers. The hotel gained a reputation for being a hotspot for crime and illicit affairs, earning the nickname 'rendezvous of choice' for couples. Despite its prominence, the Ford Hotel was demolished in 1973, and the site is now occupied by the Atrium on Bay. The hotel was one of several Ford Hotels designed by architect John Foster Warner, with others in cities like Buffalo and Montreal, each with its own unique history and fate.
