Strandridergaarden

Strandridergården is a historic country house located in Vedbæk, approximately 30 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Built in 1895 for vintner Georg Bestle, it showcases the architectural designs of Thorvald Bindesbøll. The property has a rich history dating back to 1811 and was originally used as a summer residence by C.W.F. Bestle. Spanning 11,780 m2, the estate has undergone various transformations, including its adaptation into an orphanage in 1951, which operated until 2013. Recently, it was sold and underwent significant renovations, earning a nomination for the Danish Renovation Award in 2020, although this has led to legal disputes with local authorities. The house's blend of historical significance and modern adaptations makes it an intriguing site for tourists and researchers alike.
