Olivas Adobe

The Olivas Adobe, a historic adobe structure in Ventura, California, was built in 1837 by Raymundo Olivas and is notable for being the only two-story adobe building in the area. Originally part of a 2,250-acre land grant, the home served as a residence for Olivas and his large family until 1899. It later became a hunting lodge for Max Fleischmann and was donated to the City of Ventura after his death. Registered as California Historical Landmark #115 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the site also has cultural significance, having been featured in the 1913 silent film 'The Gringo Strikes.'
