Esquire Tavern - historic Art Deco River Walk bar with long wooden bar top

Esquire Tavern opened in 1933 on the San Antonio River Walk and retains an Art Deco interior. The tavern features a continuous wooden bar top installed in 1939 that is commonly cited as the longest wooden bar top in Texas. It has operated at the same River Walk location through much of the downtown riverfront’s development and restoration.
