Porcher House

The Porcher House, located at 434 Delannoy Avenue in Cocoa, Florida, is a historic home built in 1916 by Edward Postell Porcher for his wife, Byrnina M. Peck. This ten-bedroom residence showcases 20th century classical revival architecture, uniquely adapted to the Florida climate, and is constructed from native coquina rock with interiors featuring teak, oak, and cedar. Added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on January 6, 1986, the house served as Cocoa's City Hall in the 1950s and is now available for special events. Edward Porcher was a pioneer in the citrus industry, known for his innovative practices in fruit washing and grading, while Byrnina was the first postmistress of Merritt Island.
