Watergate break-in arrests at the Watergate office complex

On June 17, 1972, five men were arrested inside the Democratic National Committee headquarters located in the Watergate office complex at this address. The arrests prompted investigations that expanded into the Watergate scandal, ultimately leading to numerous convictions and President Richard Nixon's resignation in 1974.
