St. John's Church, Helsinki

St. John's Church, located in the Ullanlinna district of Helsinki, is a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture designed by Adolf Melander. Built between 1888 and 1891, it is the largest stone church in Finland, seating 2,600 people and renowned for its excellent acoustics, making it a popular venue for concerts and events. The church features impressive twin towers that rise 74 meters high and an altarpiece depicting Saul's conversion, painted by Eero Järnefelt. Recently renovated in 2022, the church's gargoyles were restored to preserve their intricate details.
