PECO Building

The PECO Building is a striking modernist skyscraper located in Center City Philadelphia, serving as the headquarters for PECO Energy Company. This 27-story structure, situated near the Schuylkill River at 2301 Market Street, consists of two conjoined buildings designed by Harbeson, Hough, Livingston & Larson, with the North building completed in 1916 and the South building in 1970. A highlight of the PECO Building is its impressive Crown Lights, an electronic display that has been showcasing community messages since 1976. The display was upgraded to a vibrant LED system in 2009 and further enhanced in 2020, making it a captivating sight for both tourists and researchers interested in urban architecture and technology.
