Strong's Block

Strong's Block is a historic commercial building located at 1637–1651 Beacon Street in Waban Village, Newton, Massachusetts. Constructed in 1896, this 2+1⁄2-story brick structure showcases Flemish Revival architecture and is one of the few remaining 19th-century commercial blocks in the area. Designed by local architect Lewis H. Bacon for resident William Strong, the building reflects the growth spurred by the nearby Circuit Railroad, now part of the MBTA Green Line D branch. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
