Betty Willis and the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign

Graphic artist Betty Willis designed the 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign in 1959 for Western Neon. The sign, installed at the south end of the Strip, has become an iconic symbol of the city and is directly associated with Willis' work. Willis chose not to copyright the design, allowing widespread reproduction and use of the image.
