Casa Marcionelli

Casa Marcionelli is a significant cultural heritage site located near San Martín Plaza in Lima, Peru. This historical building, constructed in the 1920s, was originally the office of Severino Marcionelli's mining company and served as the Consulate General of Switzerland until the late 1940s. In January 2023, the building suffered extensive damage due to a fire that erupted during nearby protests, leading to its classification as an unsalvageable loss. Despite its recent restoration efforts aimed at hosting artistic exhibitions and serving as a hostel, the fire left its inhabitants homeless. The building's rich history and its connection to the Swiss diaspora in Peru make it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
