Smith Tower – financed by Lyman Cornelius Smith

Smith Tower, completed in 1914 at 506 2nd Avenue, was financed by industrialist Lyman Cornelius Smith and named for him. Upon completion it was one of the tallest skyscrapers on the U.S. West Coast and has an early 20th-century observation deck and historic interior features. The building's construction and naming are directly tied to L.C. Smith's investment in Seattle's early high-rise development.
