Boston Opera House (Downtown Crossing)

The Boston Opera House at 539 Washington Street opened in 1928 as the B.F. Keith Memorial Theatre and retains an ornate interior that reflects its movie-palace and vaudeville-era origins. After periods of decline and a major restoration, it reopened as a performing arts venue and is a primary Downtown Crossing site for touring Broadway productions and large theatrical events. The theater is recognized as a neighborhood cultural landmark in Boston's theater district.
