William Woodsend Memorial Homes

The William Woodsend Memorial Homes, built between 1912 and 1913 in Lenton, Nottingham, are a historic site comprising six almshouses established in memory of local builder William Woodsend by his sons. These homes were designed to provide shelter for individuals who have fallen on hard times, particularly favoring women who had worked as governesses, nurses, or school mistresses. Managed by a charity until 2007, the homes now operate under the Nottingham Community Housing Association, continuing their legacy of supporting those in need.
