Diego Rivera's Detroit Industry Murals at the Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts houses more than 65,000 works and is one of the largest art collections in the United States. Its Rivera Court contains Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry Murals (1932–33), a series commissioned to depict Detroit’s industrial production and labor and widely regarded as a major public-art commission of the 20th century. The murals remain a central scholarly and visitor attraction at the museum.
