Clal Center

The Clal Center, located in Jerusalem on Jaffa Road, is a 15-story office tower and shopping mall completed in 1972. It was the first upscale indoor shopping mall in the city, designed to revitalize the area between Mahane Yehuda Market and the city center. Despite its ambitious goals, the Clal Center faced challenges, including a decline in occupancy as tenants moved to newer developments in the 1990s. The building features a large central atrium and modern architectural design, but has been criticized for its commercial failure. Today, it houses various government offices, banks, and a non-denominational prayer tower, while also serving as a reminder of the historical Alliance Vocational School that once occupied the site.
