First Trust Building and Garage

The First Trust Building and Garage, also known as Lloyd's Bank, is a historic 1927 structure located on Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California. Designed by Cyril Bennett and Fitch Haskell, it showcases a blend of Mediterranean Revival, Renaissance Revival, and Beaux-Arts architectural styles, featuring decorative stonework, a red tile hip roof with a cupola, and a beautifully adorned south facade. Inside, visitors can admire murals that depict scenes from Pasadena. Notably, the building incorporates an innovative earthquake-proof support system designed by Caltech professor R. R. Martel, which has influenced modern construction practices. It was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
