Aventine Hall

Aventine Hall is a historic Greek Revival style home located in Luray, Virginia, built in 1852 by Peter Bouck Borst. Notable for its impressive tetrastyle Corinthian portico and hipped roof with a cupola, this two-story dwelling features four interior end chimneys and intricate architectural details inspired by the Tower of the Winds in Athens. The house served as the main building for Luray College from 1925 to 1927 and was relocated to its current site in 1937. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, making it a significant landmark for visitors and researchers interested in American architectural history.
