Strand Millas and Rock Spring

Strand Millas and Rock Spring is a historic home located near Montchanin, Delaware, built in 1701. This 2+1⁄2 story quarried stone dwelling was expanded in the 1760s and is notable for being the residence of du Pont heiress Louisa d'Andelot Carpenter after her marriage in 1929. The property also features the Rock Spring springhouse and a dwelling believed to date back to the 1680s, although it underwent significant remodeling in the 19th century. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, making it a significant attraction for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
