Bellevue (Batesville, Virginia)

Bellevue, also known as Wavertree Hall Farm, is a historic home and farm complex located near Batesville in Albemarle County, Virginia. Built in 1859, the main house showcases a blend of Italianate and Greek Revival architectural styles, featuring a two-story pedimented portico and wide bracketed eaves. The property includes additional brick wings added in the early 20th century, as well as an antebellum log slave house, tenant houses, and various outbuildings like a pump house and barns. Notably, it also has an underground room integrated into the garden terraces. Bellevue was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
