Pillot House fire at Sam Houston Park

Sam Houston Park, managed by The Heritage Society of Houston, contains a group of preserved historic houses including the 19th-century Pillot House. In December 2007 the Pillot House was heavily damaged by a fire investigators treated as suspicious and later investigated as possible arson. The blaze drew public attention because the Pillot House is one of Houston's prominent preserved historic structures and prompted stabilization and preservation responses.
