Sultan Iskandar Building

The Sultan Iskandar Building, located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, serves as a customs, immigration, and quarantine complex at the northern end of the Johor–Singapore Causeway. Opened in 2008, it is the largest CIQ complex in Malaysia, facilitating the movement of vehicles and pedestrians between Malaysia and Singapore. The building is part of the Southern Integrated Gateway project, which aimed to enhance border crossing efficiency. Visitors can access the complex via the Johor Bahru Sentral railway station, connected by a footbridge. The site has a rich history, evolving from simple border checks to a modern facility, reflecting the growing need for structured immigration control following Singapore's separation from Malaysia in 1965.
