Quincy Market (1824–1826 granite market hall)

Quincy Market was built between 1824 and 1826 and was designed by architect Alexander Parris as a long, low granite market hall serving Boston's wholesale and retail trade. The building forms the central axis of the Faneuil Hall Marketplace complex and exemplifies early-19th-century market-hall design in New England. Its long barrel-roofed interior and exterior granite facades have been preserved through successive rehabilitation projects.
