Peralta Adobe-San Jose's oldest building and archaeological site

The Peralta Adobe, built in 1797, is the oldest building in San Jose and is owned and interpreted by History San José. Archaeological investigations associated with its preservation have documented material remains from the Spanish and Mexican eras of San Jose's early settlement. The site provides tangible evidence of late 18th- and 19th-century domestic life in the valley.
