Sam Cohodas Lodge

The Sam Cohodas Lodge, located near Lake Michigamme in Michigan, is a historic lodge built between 1934-35 for businessman Sam Cohodas. Recognized for its distinctive rustic log architecture, it was designed by architect David E. Anderson and constructed by Finnish craftsmen using local materials. The lodge served as a personal residence and entertainment center for Cohodas, who was a prominent figure in the fruit wholesale industry and a philanthropist. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Michigan State Historic Site, the lodge remains largely intact and has been converted into a bed and breakfast, offering visitors a glimpse into early 20th-century architectural style and the history of the region.
