The Oil Palace

The Oil Palace is a prominent multi-purpose arena in Tyler, Texas, with a seating capacity of 6,960. Originally envisioned in 1955 by Bobby Manziel, Sr. as a venue for boxing matches, the arena faced delays due to his untimely death. It was eventually completed in 1983 by his son, Bobby Manziel, Jr., and has since hosted various events, including concerts by notable artists like Barbara Mandrell and Jamey Johnson. The venue underwent a significant renovation in 2018 and continues to be a key location for entertainment in East Texas, although it faced auction in 2025 due to financial issues.
