Upper terraces at Ghirardelli Square

Ghirardelli Square, redeveloped from the original Ghirardelli chocolate factory in the 1960s, includes upper-level terraces and walkways that provide framed views of Aquatic Park, the Hyde Street Pier, and parts of the bay that are less obvious from the street-level plaza. These terraces are semi-enclosed and often quieter than the main shopping areas, making them overlooked vantage points for bay panoramas. The historic complex combines preserved industrial architecture with these elevated outlooks.
