Glebe of Shelburne Parish

The Glebe of Shelburne Parish, built around 1775 in Loudoun County, Virginia, is a historic house that served to attract a cleric for the Anglican Church. Nestled on a hilltop with views of Goose Creek, this two-story brick structure features a hall-and-parlor plan and includes a kitchen wing and several outbuildings. Although the glebe was intended to support the parish's ministerial efforts, legal disputes over its ownership delayed its sale until 1840. The house, showcasing Greek Revival detailing, is part of the Goose Creek Historic District and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American history and architecture.
