Philadelphia Arena

The Philadelphia Arena, originally known as the Philadelphia Auditorium and Ice Palace, was a prominent sports venue located in West Philadelphia from 1920 until its closure in 1983. It served as the home for ice hockey and basketball, hosting teams like the Philadelphia Warriors and the Yale University men's ice hockey team. The arena featured a large ice surface and seating for thousands, making it a premier venue for various events, including boxing matches. Renamed the Martin Luther King Jr. Arena in 1980, it was ultimately lost to arson in 1983.
