Urbis

Urbis is a striking architectural landmark in Manchester, England, designed by Ian Simpson and opened in 2002. Initially a Museum of the City, it transitioned in 2005 to focus on exhibitions of popular culture, hosting a variety of events and talks. After closing in 2010, it reopened as the National Football Museum, attracting over 400,000 visitors annually. The building features a unique sloping design with 2,200 glass panes and is known for its energy-efficient systems. Urbis has hosted diverse exhibitions, from contemporary art to the history of hip-hop, making it a vibrant cultural hub in the city.
