Petersen House-Lincoln's death site across from Ford's Theatre

The Petersen House, located across from Ford's Theatre, is the boarding house where Abraham Lincoln was carried after being shot and where he died the morning of April 15, 1865. The room in which Lincoln died is preserved and presented as part of the Ford's Theatre National Historic Site interpretation. The house operates as a historic house museum managed by the National Park Service.
