St John's House, Bridgend

St John's House, the oldest habitable building in Bridgend, Wales, dates back to the 16th century and has a rich history, including ties to the Order of St John of Jerusalem. Originally thought to serve as a hospice for pilgrims, its historical significance is highlighted by a medieval carved stone tablet. Managed by the St John’s House Trust, a charity established in 2012, the house is preserved for community benefit and is open to the public twice a month, offering a glimpse into the architectural heritage of the region.
